Fearless Nadia
Back in the 1930s the biggest name in Bollywood action was a girl named Fearless Nadia - although her parents knew her better as Perth-born Mary Evans. So how did this young, fair Australian lass end up as a Bollywood star? Witness the birth of Bollywood, accompanied by a new and completely original score by Ben Walsh (Tom Tom Crew) performed live by the Orkestra of the Underground. Watch a taste of her story here.
Peer Gynt
Direct from Korea, Yohangza Theatre Company return having impressed audiences with their highly original, award winning interpretations of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2007) and Hamlet (2010). This time Yohangza presents a compelling and contemporary re-working of Ibsen’s Peer Gynt. Peer Gynt is a character who runs from commitment, and who is completely selfish, having little concern for the sacrifices that others are forced to make in accommodating him. More info here.
:: Wednesday 3rd October - Wednesday 17th October ::
Ula Blocksage :: Fragments
Opening night :: Wednesday 3rd October
All I have are fragments, memories of times now past. Fleeting moments, which linger in my mind, wrestle inside me, isolate me, yet complete me. I did not and will not try to name you, though you will not let me be… There will come a time when you will disappear, and despite my better judgment, consumed with the need of your torment, I will go on searching for another you.
{Fragment,. noun, 1. a part broken off or detached, 2. an isolated, unfinished, or incomplete part}
